Real Party: Pink Owl First Birthday Party for Saylor | Baby Lifestyles

The first thing Lottie of Couture Events by Lottie wanted us to know about Saylor?s birthday party is that this is a family that loves owls. When she had her baby shower for Saylor, it too had an owl theme which Lottie wanted to carry over into her first birthday party. ?Plus we are the Fowler family!? And thus why the owls make it near and dear to the heart!

?I love the outdoors and I love southern influences. Being an event designer and now a mommy, I tend to get a little in depth on the details. I wanted fresh flowers, tastefully treats. Almost a sophisticated approach to a birthday party.?

Lottie loved the homemade lemonade stand, which was child ?spill? proof. ?Instead of filling the drink dispenser with lemonade which I knew the kids would end up spilling on my antique washboard, we simply filled it will ice like a cooler and packed it full of lemonade Capri Suns. ?It gave the look of a lemonade stand with no fretting from this mommy. I also loved how the popcorn owl bucket favors turned out. The kids love them and it was super easy and cost efficient.?

Lottie bought the owl invites and owl buckets at Target. ?They were cute and simple. I DIY?d the inside of the invitation with a rubber stamp to get a crafty look from it. I wanted to front yard to be welcoming so I had a chalkboard sign written with a big ?welcome?. Then lining the walkway to the door were happy little pink pinwheels. Under the tree hung our owl pi?ata and homemade lemonade stand where kiddos could almost find bubble wands in an old clabber girl can. The treat table inside was full of grocery store goodies like stuffed oreos, animal crackers, meringue cookie, and mini cupcakes. We hung paper poms and bunting flags over the treat displa and placed similar colored balloons around the house. There were also stationary themed signs here and there for extra detail.?

As a huge DIY?er, Lottie created Saylor Rue?s cake banner topper, the owl cupcake toppers, and all the stationary signage. A friend made the banner of paper bag owls that was hung on the fireplace. Lottie also loves alternatives and making things personal, which is what gave her the idea for the guest book.

?As a family we love photography and capturing timeless moments so creating a photo book was much easier than scrapbooking one.? This way it?s neat and organized and I was able to share all the precious moments with our Saylor and how we watched her grow for this first year of her childhood. Family and friends also wrote wishes to her in the book. My plan is to do one each year, at each birthday, with that year on the spine of the book. So when she grows up and is a mommy she will have 18 volumes of her life documented. Timeless!?

At the end of the day, it?s the little things that Lottie holds close to her heart about Saylor?s first birthday party. ?The details like family members and friends coming to watch my baby girl celebrate her birth. It?s emotional to think about all the people that really and truly love her. I am blessed by those details because everything else wouldn?t have been so beautiful without them.?

Thanks Lottie for sharing this hoot of a party with us!
