Considering Vodafone UK carried the HTC Sensation exclusively for the first month of its availability, there should be more than a few Vodafone Sensation owners eagerly awaiting the update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. That waiting ends today, though, as Voda has announced the availability of the new software upgrade, which also bumps the phone up to version 3.6 of HTC Sense.
Here's what the carrier had to say --
Great news. The testing of the ICS update for HTC Sensation is complete, and we plan to start rolling out the update [today], 29th March.
The update will be rolled out in phases by the Over The Air service, so if yours doesn’t appear right away, you can either wait for it to appear, or go to Settings > About Phone > Software Update > Check now.
Vodafone remains quite about the release date of the ICS update for its version of the Samsung Galaxy S II. That update is already available on O2 and Three-branded handsets, though bizarrely not on unbranded ones. An earlier statement given by the network says it aims to release ICS for the Galaxy S II "as quickly as possible."
